Distribution: Occurring west of the Cascades crest in Washington; southern Washington to northwest California.

Habitat: Low elevations, usually in moist, coastal woods but sometimes on rather dry, open slopes.

Flowers: April-August

Origin: Native

Conservation Status: Threatened in Washington (WANHP)

Pollination: Apomixis, bumblebees, flies

Description:
General:

Finely pubescent perennial from rhizomes, the stems 3-15 cm. long, decumbent to erect.

Leaves:

Leaves alternate, long-petiolate, trifoliate; leaflets 1.5-3 cm. broad, obcordate, drooping; stipules very small or lacking.

Flowers:

Flowers 1-3, short-pedicellate, on peduncles exceeding the leaves; sepals 5; petals 5, yellow, 12-20 mm. long, rounded; stamens 10, the filaments hairy, the lower 2-3 mm. united, 5 filaments longer than the other 5; styles 5.
